Pre-doctoral Student Network Grants
To encourage research on this topic and also cultivate the next generation of gambling researchers, the Scientific Advisory Board of the International Center for Responsible Gaming is pleased to invite applications for a new grants program for pre-doctoral students. The goal of this grants program is to support collaboration by pre-doctoral students focused on a state of the research review on sports wagering. Collaboration will be facilitated by the formation of a network of a minimum of three separate labs led by a senior investigator who will serve as mentor and as principal investigator of the grant. The network should focus on developing a manuscript-ready paper suitable for publication in a peer-reviewed journal, preferably one not focused solely on gambling studies.
For the purpose of this initiative, sports wagering encompasses bets on game or sports outcomes and scores, as well as fantasy sports and daily fantasy sports contests.
Gambling Funding Grants Pass
Applicants may request up to $5,000 in direct costs. No indirect costs are allowed. Funds may be used for salary, stipends, equipment, travel and other costs of facilitating the network’s deliberations.
